WEIGHTLESS EXTERNAL HARNESS (2PK)

Set of two fully assembled external harnesses for the Saddletramp. For the 6” Saddletramp, use the small harness. For the 8” Saddletramp, use the medium harness. For the 10”, the large size is the ticket. All sizes are now built musky-tough…even the small.

Dual rolling speed swivels to heavy duty stainless split rings. Heavy duty black nickel hooks to top things off. 90lb AFW Surflon on the Large and XL. Solid steel ring line tie to allow for loosest action and safest connection to your leader.

The flexible wire stinger portion of the 10” and 12” harnesses works interchangeably with the appropriately paired Screwball. In fact, the large size external weightless harness is simply a corkscrew attached to a Screwball Stinger, also available here. The purpose of this is to offer on-the-go flexibility, as well as replaceability should anything wear out over the seasons.

Corkscrews twisted, by hand, by me, with AFW Toothproof wire to ensure a safe, sturdy, and reliable connection while still allowing for on-the-go tuning.

Recommended leader is multistrand surflon wire (20-40lb surflon for the 6”, 60lb-90lb+ surflon for larger sizes and big toothies). Stiff wires and heavy fluorocarbon or mono leaders will deaden the action- especially on the 6” size. Heavy fluorocarbon will work for the larger sizes, but flexible surflon wire will generally allow for the most lifelike action in combination with the external harnesses.
